Lior Vagima

Lior Vagima, born in Israel in 1976, discovered the world of glass through a flame working course he took at Alex Arbell's studio in Ein Hod. This discovery led him in 2005 to Venice, to the studio of the grand master of glasswork, Lucio Bubbaco who has been his mentor ever since. Lior creates small scale sculptures and, like Bubacco, he uses the flame working technique which he combines with cast glass.In his current series, Giving Birth, Lior deals with the theme of motherhood, and tries to depict the significance of women to the circle of life along with confronting the different roles and challenges women face.
