Philippe Cognée: Sea of Sand March 29 – May 31, 2012
Considered one of the most important and respected French contemporary painters, Philippe Cognée has been exploring the notion of observation, image and memory for nearly twenty years.
For this solo exhibition, Cognée's wax paintings reference his travels in Tel Aviv combined with sandcastles he had built near the Loire River in France.
His canvases are emotionally captivating in a way that is both chilling, yet familiar.

Chilean-born artist Ivan Navarro occupies Litvak Gallery's concept room with three works from his renowned series “Nowhere Man” and one of his most recent works that gives the illusion of infinite space.
In his artistic style, Navarro questions Minimalism by going beyond the pure form of the florescent lights by attaching social content, history, and a psychological aspect to his pieces.
